Engineering retains its core value as the company commenced business in 1922. Cumulative experiences in multiple fields, from civil to electrical engineering enhanced recognition in IEC as one of the country’s reliable supplier to national projects.

Today, IEC represents worldwide leading brands in electricity and metering: Comverge/Kubota/Cutlet Hammer and others are fine examples. Electrical products and services have been continuously supplied to state authorities including Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) and Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) of Thailand. Most importantly, the supply is extremely significant to stabilize energy resources for the country.

Recently, potential engineering products are also reached out, such as fuel-saving equipment, energy-saving products to accord to global concern over global warming and energy usage and to generate additional revenue for the company.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

Along with continuous growth in cell phone, ICT business was developed as IEC inaugurated IEC Technology Co., Ltd. (IECT) in 1999 as an ICT system integrator in response to rising demand in domestic market. (The company was then a joint venture between Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) and IEC.)

IECT was successful in various government ICT projects, among them the THB 891 million Integrated Billing and Customer Service System (IBACSS) project was won by IECT and its consortium in early 2008.

Another synergetic approach – digital content management is the latest investment by IEC in acquiring 100% of an active animation and games design company through Triple Play Co., Ltd, the subsidiary of IEC. Triple Play Co., Ltd manages all types of contents through digital distribution both wire and wireless for contents own by the company or others. IEC is sturdily working on expanded into broadband access business with the potential of hi-speed internet.

Energy

Decades of heavy exploitation of energy resources bring in today’s energy crisis as depleted reserve and surging consumption are threatening our lives. Preserving energy is one of the critical methods in keeping our resources as long as we can. As a result, in 2008, IEC and “Chunghwa Telecom”, a Taiwanese leading company signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly enter into an energy-saving investment project to cope with the upcoming crisis.

The project so-called Intelligent Environment Network (IENet), will optimize energy usage in any organization by controlling, sensing and detecting electricity through web-based server platform which proves to be effective in reducing energy cost and control workforce.

The IENet was established and implemented widely in Taiwan. Users are greatly satisfied with the adopted solution before and after, as it benefits them financially and socially.
